Gamachis Shogo

Mr. Gamachis Shogo currently serves as Family Planning and Reproductive Health Commodity Security Technical Specialist in UNFPA Sierra Leone Country Office since March 2020 where he is coordinating the development of an integrated commodity security strategy, the realization of a national mechanism for defining contraceptive supplies needs and resources as well as ensuring visibility and accountability at the last mile. Before joining Sierra Leone Country Office, he served as Programme Analyst in Family Planning and Reproductive Health Commodity Security (FP/RHCS) in UNFPA Ethiopia Country Office (2014 – 2020). During this period, as a focal for the UNFPA Supplies programme, he significantly contributed to Ethiopia’s remarkable achievement in family planning through the health extension (community health) programme.

Prior to joining UNFPA Ethiopia CO, he worked with Management Sciences for Health (MSH) on a USAID funded project called Supply Chain Management System (SCMS) and with the Ministry of Health both at national and sub-national levels. Mr Shogo holds an MPH from Hawassa University, MSc in Pharmaceutics and BSc in Pharmacy from Addis Ababa University.
